Entity: OperaHouse Ventures ("OperaHouse Ventures," "we," "us"), a sole proprietorship of Alistair Farr operating under the trade name "OperaHouse Ventures."
Site: ohventures.cc (the "Site")

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information ohventures.cc collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to the ohventures.cc marketing site — not to our products (see Section 3).

2. Site Scope

The Site is a marketing site describing OperaHouse Ventures, our team, and our portfolio, with a dev log of articles and a Studio Ledger recording each product's stage. It has no user accounts, no login, and no payment processing on the Site itself. The Site is delivered through Cloudflare (DNS, reverse proxy, and security) and hosted on Vercel; every visit passes through both (see Sections 4 and 9).

3. What This Policy Does Not Cover

Our products — NarrativAI, OperaHouse (hospitality guest messaging), and, once released, Argus and CullMC — are governed by their own privacy policies, published inside each product. The Argus Privacy Policy is published ahead of release. Data you provide while using a product is handled under that product's policy, not this one.

4. Information We Collect

  • "Get in touch" links. The Site's "Get in touch" section provides mailto: links for investor/partnership, product/support, and careers inquiries. These open your own email client — we don't collect or process anything through the Site itself until you choose to send that email directly to us.
  • Waitlist signups. When you submit the waitlist form, we collect your name, email address, which product you're interested in (NarrativAI, Argus, OperaHouse, CullMC, or General), and any optional message you include. We add you to our waitlist mailing list for the product(s) you selected. See Section 7.
  • Argus pre-orders. When you pre-order Argus, we collect your name, email address, the tier you chose, and, if you choose to give them, your server platform and approximate player count. Payment is handled by Stripe on its own checkout page: Stripe collects your card details and billing information, and we receive only the payment's status, amount, and the details above. We also add you to the Argus waitlist (see Section 7).
  • Email engagement data. When we email you, we record whether the email was delivered, whether it was opened, and which links you clicked. See Section 7.
  • Server-side request data. Like every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) and our DNS/proxy provider (Cloudflare) each log standard request data — IP address, user agent, referrer, request path, and timestamps — for a limited period, for security and abuse prevention.
  • Product analytics. We use PostHog to understand how visitors move through the Site (page views, referrers, aggregated behavior, and session replay of on-Site interactions). See Section 6.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 8.

We do not collect government identifiers, card numbers, or health data through the Site; pre-order payments are entered directly with Stripe. Please do not include those categories of information in the waitlist form or in a message you send us directly.

5. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to you. When you write to us via a "Get in touch" link, our team reviews your message and routes it internally to the right person.
  • To send the emails you asked for. Waitlist signups receive a confirmation and then updates about the product(s) you selected. We use email engagement data to check that our emails arrive and are useful. You can unsubscribe at any time (see Section 7).
  • To fulfil pre-orders. We use pre-order details to deliver your Argus licence, send order and refund emails, handle refunds, and meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations.
  • To operate and secure the Site. Cloudflare logs and rate limits protect the Site against abuse, denial-of-service traffic, and automated form submissions.
  • To improve the Site. PostHog analytics inform what content is working and where visitors get stuck.
  • To evaluate candidates. Careers inquiries sent via the "Get in touch" careers link are retained for candidate evaluation and future opportunities. If you'd rather we delete your submission after review, tell us and we will.
  • To comply with law. We may retain or disclose limited information as required to meet a legal obligation, respond to lawful process, or protect our rights.

6. Analytics — PostHog

We use PostHog for site analytics. Depending on your visit, PostHog may capture: pages viewed, referring source, approximate location derived from IP (city-level), device and browser type, session recordings of your on-Site interactions (with all form-field inputs masked by default), and internal event identifiers.

  • We do not use PostHog to build cross-site advertising profiles.
  • We do not sell or share PostHog data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we honor a stated preference to opt out of session replay where technically feasible.

7. Email & the Waitlist Mailing List

What we send. When you join the waitlist, we send one confirmation email. After that, we only email you about the product(s) you chose: a new stage, an invite, or a launch, plus occasional studio news if you chose "General." We don't send email to people who haven't joined the waitlist or written to us, and we never sell or rent our mailing list.

The list. Our mailing list is stored with Resend, our email provider. For each person on it we keep your name, email address, the product topics you're subscribed to, and your subscription status.

Open and click tracking. Our emails use Resend's open and click tracking:

  • Opens: each email contains a small invisible image. When your email app loads it, Resend records that the email was opened, along with the time and technical details your app sends when loading images (such as IP address and email client).
  • Clicks: links in our emails first pass through a tracking address on our domain (ctrs.operahouse.cc), which records the click and then takes you straight to the link's destination.

We use this data only to see whether our emails reach people and which updates are useful, and to keep our sending reputation healthy. We don't use it for advertising or combine it with data from other companies. Open data is approximate: many email apps block images or load them automatically. To prevent open tracking, turn off automatic image loading in your email app.

Unsubscribing. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe:

  • the one-click "Unsubscribe" option your email app shows (for example, in Gmail or Apple Mail);
  • the "Unsubscribe" link in the email's footer, which opens a page on the Site; or
  • emailing [email protected].

Unsubscribing takes effect right away for one-click and link requests, and emailed requests are handled within 10 business days. You'll stop receiving waitlist and product emails from us. If you join the waitlist again later, that counts as a new sign-up and you'll be subscribed again.

8. Cookies & Similar Technologies

The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary — set by Cloudflare (our DNS/proxy provider) and Vercel (our host) for security, rate limiting, and bot detection. These are required for the Site to function.
  • Analytics — set by PostHog to distinguish anonymous visitors and support the measurements described in Section 6.

We do not set advertising cookies. Where applicable law requires a consent choice for non-essential cookies, we present that choice on your first visit.

9. Sub-processors & Third-Party Services

We share limited data with the following service providers solely to operate the Site:

  • Vercel — hosting, application infrastructure, and the serverless function that processes waitlist submissions.
  • Cloudflare — DNS, reverse proxy, DDoS/WAF protection, and edge logs.
  • PostHog — product analytics and session replay (as described in Section 6).
  • Resend — outbound email (waitlist confirmations and product updates), email open and click tracking, and the waitlist mailing list: your name, email address, the products you chose, and your subscription status (see Section 7).
  • Stripe — payment processing for Argus pre-orders: your name, email address, payment details, and order details. Stripe processes payment data under its own privacy policy as well as on our behalf.
  • GitHub — Site source hosting; not user-facing.
  • Notion — knowledge-base and dev-log content referenced on the Site; not user-facing.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

10. Data Retention

  • Messages sent via "Get in touch" links: handled per the retention practices of the email inbox they land in — up to 24 months from receipt, or longer if a business or legal need requires (e.g., an active support thread, a legal claim).
  • Careers inquiries: up to 24 months to consider you for future opportunities, unless you ask us to delete them earlier.
  • Waitlist signups: retained until the product-specific waitlist is retired or you ask us to delete them. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and unsubscribed status so we don't email you again; ask [email protected] if you want it deleted entirely.
  • Pre-order records: kept in Stripe for as long as tax and accounting law requires (typically up to 7 years), including after a refund.
  • Email engagement data (opens and clicks): retained with your mailing list record, and deleted when that record is deleted.
  • Cloudflare edge logs: retained per Cloudflare's standard retention (short — typically days, not months).
  • PostHog analytics: retained per our PostHog project retention setting, and pruned when no longer useful.

11. Your Rights & Choices

Regardless of where you live, you can email [email protected] to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you from Site interactions.
  • Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete your information from our systems.
  • Unsubscribe from any list you're on (or use the options in Section 7).
  • Ask a question about how we handle your data.

Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and certain U.S. states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah) have additional rights under their local laws — including the right to object to certain processing, to portability, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of them, contact [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by your applicable law.

We do not use your Site interactions to make legally significant automated decisions about you.

12. International Users

OperaHouse Ventures is a U.S.-based operation, currently a sole proprietorship of Alistair Farr; if we later form a limited liability company, it will succeed to the data-handling obligations under this Policy. Our infrastructure and sub-processors are primarily located in the United States, though Cloudflare's edge network is global. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws that differ from those of your home jurisdiction.

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or another jurisdiction that requires additional safeguards for cross-border transfers, contact [email protected] for information about the safeguards that apply to your data.

13. Children's Privacy

The Site is directed to adults exploring OperaHouse Ventures and its portfolio. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information through the Site, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

14. Security

We protect the Site with common industry safeguards — TLS for all traffic, Cloudflare edge security, source secrets stored server-side only, and least-privilege access to our tools. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact [email protected].

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Effective Date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated on the Site before they take effect.
